Waterloo Region Plans for One Million Residents

Waterloo Region is preparing for rapid growth under the Vision One Million initiative, aiming to exceed one million residents.

Councillor Matt Rodriguez says this will require major investments in affordable housing, public transit, water supply, and community services. Plans include expanding the ION transit line to Cambridge, building supportive housing, and improving road safety. The region is also focused on welcoming newcomers and strengthening inclusion.
