Escalating dangers for humanitarian workers

As we mark World Humanitarian Day, we must reflect on the increasing dangers faced by humanitarian workers. 2023 was the deadliest year on record, and 2024 is expected to be even worse. Despite international laws meant to protect them, violations continue unchecked, leaving aid workers and those they serve at risk.

This year’s campaign addresses the normalization of these attacks and the impunity that follows. Today, we present an interview with Jens Laerke from UNOCHA, discussing the urgent need to protect those on the front lines.
