Its been more than a century since the Punjabi community started migrating to Canada for a better future. But new dreams in hearts & hard work in genes, now Punjabi community achieved many great positions at various departments across the country. However, with the struggles, they created many paths for new-generation immigrants. We talked to the board adviser at Sikh Heritage Manitoba about the change she witnessed in the Punjabi diaspora. She also mentioned how to reflect on this Canada day.
Trans- ਅਤੀਤ ਮਹਿਜ਼ ਇਕ ਬੀਤਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਖ ਅਤੇ ਸਬਕ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ। ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਔਖੇ ਰਾਹ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੂਨ ਪਸੀਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ – ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਵੇਂ Immigrants ਨੂੰ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਮਾਹੋਲ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੇ। ਪਰ ਕੀ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ Immigrant – ਇਥੇ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਕੇ ਵੱਸੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋਏ ਨੇ?
