Toronto’s Portuguese-Canadian community celebrated a historic first on June 7 as the Portugal Day Parade marched along St. Clair Avenue West for the first time in its 38-year history.
The parade, a highlight of Portugal Week 2025, brought vibrant crowds to the stretch between Oakwood and Caledonia. Spectators lined the streets to watch bands, folklore groups, and community organizations showcase Portuguese culture in a colourful display of music, dance, and national pride.
The move to St. Clair West marked a symbolic return to one of the city’s most deeply rooted Portuguese neighbourhoods, drawing strong support from residents and local leaders alike.
