随着新冠疫情得到控制，加之中外人员往来需求的恢复，中国驻加拿大大使馆宣布即日起各类赴华签证（含旅游签证）的申请得以恢复。同时中方恢复了中国公民赴尼泊尔、伊朗、法国、巴西等40个国家的团体出境游。有本国旅行社反应因航班数目有限，赴华人数短期内还不会有太大波动。 有媒体称此举标志着中国向外界重新开放的最新一步。中国驻加拿大大使馆网站上公布：中方恢复了2020年3月28日前签发且仍在有效期内的签证入境功能，并恢复了口岸签证。 自3月15日零时起，就外国人赴华签证及入境政策作如下调整： 一、恢复2020年3月28日前签发且仍在有效期内的签证入境功能。 二、驻外签证机关恢复审发外国人各类赴华签证。 三、口岸签证机关恢复审发符合法定事由的各类口岸签证。 四、恢复海南入境免签、上海邮轮免签、港澳地区外国人组团入境广东免签、东盟旅游团入境广西桂林免签政策。 旅客可即日起申请各类赴华签证，有旅行社表示，这对于很多旅客意义重大，尤其是因为疫情三年防控而无法到中国探亲的海外华侨来说。但由于目前航班数目有限，机票价格在短期内偏高，有旅行社反应很多外国游客和华侨对飞往中国暂时持观望态度。根据联合国世界旅游组织数据显示，在新冠疫情暂停了外国人赴华签证之前，中国2019年接待了6570万国际游客。
