OMNI TV named a finalist for prestigious Jack Webster Award

OMNI’s documentary, “A Century of Resilience: Overcoming and Learning from the Chinese Exclusion Act,” has been named a finalist for the Jack Webster Award for excellence in reporting in a language other than English.

The Jack Webster Awards celebrates excellence in journalism and is considered the measure of journalism excellence in British Columbia.

“A Century of Resilience: Overcoming and Learning from the Chinese Exclusion Act” was released in June, shining a light on Canada’s dark historic past. The special report traced the century-long journey of the Chinese Canadian community’s struggle, and revival from the Chinese Canadian Exclusion Act.

The documentary is available on our website to watch in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
