OMNI Punjabi Year in Review: Punjabi brothers start non-profit to connect kids around the world

X

Coming together hasn’t been easy during the COVID-19 pandemic, but two incredible young men didn’t let that stop them from bridging the divide between kids across the country and around the world. Break the Divide is a non-profit organization founded by two Punjabi brothers, inspired by their own trip into the Northern Territories, to connect students in Nunavut’s First Nations communities to youth in Surrey.

OMNI Television’s Sumeet Dhami spoke to Abhay and Sukhmeet Singh Sachal about the importance of expanding the bubble many kids are raised in, growing past their local communities to learn about other cultures and experiences from other children actively living it.

The pair most recently expanded their virtual exchange program into South America, with plans to continue growing their outreach work across the globe.
