Candy Chan

Reporter, Focus Cantonese

Candy’s eight years at OMNI has given her a keen sense of the stories that matter to viewers. She has reported on high-profile court cases, and interviewed newsmakers from Kathleen Wynne to Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders. Candy enjoys the variety of assignments she takes on for Focus Cantonese.

As a native of Hong Kong, Candy aspired to work in television after seeing the media’s coverage of the July 1st protests. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 2008.
Before becoming a reporter, Candy worked as an operations floater for OMNI in Alberta. Like many of the other members of the OMNI team, Candy takes great pride in hosting and reporting on different events around the city – including the arrival of the giant pandas at the Toronto Zoo!
