1. What is your name, age, any nicknames and where are you from?
My name is Srushti! I’m 20 years old, from London Ontario, and living in the gorgeous city of Vancouver. My nickname usually ends up being whatever version of my name people can pronounce, which leads to a lot of people calling me Sushi…

2. What languages do you speak?
I speak English, Hindi, and very bad Gujarati.

3. What is your occupation?
I’m currently living that student life studying political science/Asian studies and hoping to make it as a political journalist when I graduate!

4. Describe yourself in 3 words.
Driven, sarcastic, and passionate.

5. Do you have any special/funny talents?
I can make really realistic-sounding cat noises…

6. Who is your favourite Bollywood actor/actress?
My favourite actor and/or the love of my life is Ranbir Kapoor, who I’ve been deeply infatuated with since Saawariya released when I was 14 years old.

7. What’s your favourite Bollywood movie?
It’s a 3-way tie between Rang De Basanti, Love Aaj Kal, and Wake Up Sid – mainly cause all of them make me cry like a baby.

8. Who is your role model/who do you look up to?
Ever since I was 4 years old watching Taal, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been my icon. I’m so in love with her acting, her dancing, her poise and elegance, and everything about her and growing up I always wanted to be exactly like her. She’s the true queen of Bollywood in my opinion!

9. What is your strategy coming into the competition?
My strategy is pretty simple: just be very much myself and see where it gets me.

10. What makes you the next Bollywood Star?
My ability to easily adapt and pretty simply, my love of movies!

11. As a Canadian, why Bollywood over Hollywood?
I might be Canadian but my Indian heritage is an extremely important part of my identity and growing up I lived in a lot of different countries. Something that was always a part of my life wherever I went was Bollywood – it’s something that ties the global South Asian community together in a way that I don’t think anything else could! Plus, the entire Bollywood aesthetic appeals to me so much more. Vera Wang wedding gowns have nothing on Sabyasachi bridal lehengas!

12. What would becoming the next Bollywood Star mean to you?
Winning this competition would mean a peek into the coolest job in the world! Getting to experience what it’s REALLY like to be an actor in the world’s biggest film industry and maybe even a chance to work with some of my idols.
