My special talent is my commitment to hard work and dedication. I work extremely hard at improving myself and improving on the things that others may call a talent. For example, I dance, but I don’t label it as a talent. I label my hard work at improving myself as a dancer a talent.

Actor = Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh
Actress = Shraddha Kapoor

7. What’s your favourite Bollywood movie?
Andaaz Apna Apna

8. Who is your role model/who do you look up to?
The one person I have always looked up to is my sister. She has been there for me when I felt like I had no one. Not only does she understand me, but she appreciates me for who I am and what I stand for. She has set the bar extremely high for me, whether it was all the work she did at home or in school. I still remember first entering High School in grade 9 and everyone coming up to me saying the same thing: “Are you Mariam’s brother?” She was so well respected in and out of school and it was exactly the kind of respect I wanted to earn from people. This is why I never strayed from the path of righteousness. She has been there when I felt alone and lost. She is the one who encouraged me to audition for Bollywood star and I know she will support me regardless of the outcome. I am doing this whole competition for her and if I win, I am taking her to Bollywood with me. Even if I become the greatest Bollywood star in the world, I still won’t be half as great as my sister.

9. What is your strategy coming into the competition?
I am the first one to acknowledge how lucky and privileged I am for this opportunity that is coming my way. It’s simple, my strategy is to keep an open mind, observe and react, take on any challenge that comes my way and above all else, just be myself. I am all about competition and showmanship as it is in my blood. I will compete to the best of my ability, learn as much as I can throughout the journey and most importantly have a ton of fun.

10. What makes you the next Bollywood Star?
The passion I have for Bollywood is out of this world. I eat, sleep and breathe Bollywood. Ever since I can remember I wanted to perform for people, share my passion with the audience and engage others through the art of expression. I still have a lot to learn and I know I have a lot to improve on, however the love and desire I have for this industry will make me become the next Bollywood star! I admire Bollywood’s theatrics; I respect what this industry stands for and their consistent desire to spread love and colour. I am ready to show this industry a new face, a new era and a new platform.

11. As a Canadian, why Bollywood over Hollywood?
Unlike Hollywood, Bollywood does not rely on expensive cars, superheroes from comic books, CGI or over-the-top stunts to capture your attention and persuade you into spending your money to watch them in theatres. Bollywood movies are full of colour, music, dance and fun. Hollywood could never match the drama and expressions that Bollywood incorporates in their films. Don’t get me wrong, Hollywood is great, but Bollywood is better. Till today, the only actor who has ever been able to make my eyes water is Shahrukh Khan.

12. What would becoming the next Bollywood Star mean to you?
Becoming the next Bollywood star would mean the world to me. I know I sound like a broken record when I say this, but Bollywood is literally my destiny. If I succeed in this competition, I would hopefully become that symbol of courage, determination and belief for the millions across the world waiting for their big break. I have been shooting for the stars ever since I could remember and constantly chasing this dream of mine for so long that I began to give up on myself. I allowed others to stick their finger in my face and tell me I would never amount to anything. It wasn’t until last year when I was encouraged and motivated by my family to pick up where I left off and fulfill this dream. I want to be that example that enlightens those that need that extra push to become whatever it is they want. I want to help fill that empty void in their bodies and their spirits and encourage them to be their best. The individuals in Bollywood who are able to do all that I have listed above are not stars… no… they are superstars… and that is exactly what I will be one day!
