SOYA BURGERS
This recipe includes 3 different dishes.
For Soya Burgers:
- 1 Cup Ground Soya (Soy meal)
- 2 tbsp cup water
- 1 Egg, 2 egg whites
- 1/4 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 a small onion
- 1/4 cup chopped dill
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- vegetable seasoning to taste
- 1/2cup clarified butter
Directions
Add the water to the ground soya and mix well. Chop the onion and add to the soy mix. Add the dill, egg, seasoning and wheat and combine everything well to create a uniform mix. Make small compact patties. On a pan over medium heat, add the butter and let it melt. Toss the patties over the egg whites and over some oatmeal and fry until golden brown on both sides. Set aside.
For Sauce:
- 1/2cup shopped mushrooms
- 1/2 a chopped onion
- 1/4 cup clarified butter
- 2 cups table cream
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2cup of water
- 2 tsp vegetable seasoning.
Directions
In a deep pan melt the butter and add the onion letting it fry for a couple of minutes. Then add the mushrooms. Let everything fry until mushrooms are cooked. Add the water and the seasoning. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes. In the mean time, mix well the table cream with the corn starch. Add the cream to the mushroom mix and simmer for a few minutes more. Once the sauce has become thick, pour it over the soya burgers.
For Vegetables:
- 2 chopped okras
- 1 cup chopped red peppers
- 1/4 chopped onion
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
Directions
Ina frying pan, melt the butter and fry the onion until soft. Add the red peppers and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the okra and cook for another couple of minutes. Add the tomato sauce and salt & pepper to taste. Let it cook and simmer for a few minutes more. Serve with the burgers and enjoy!
