Ingredients:

  • Large Portuguese or Italian style bread
  • Egg yolks 3
  • Ground coconut 250gr
  • Margarine 4 Tbsp
  • Cocoa powder 2 heaping Tbsp (ratio of 100gr cocoa powder for every 500gr of bread)
  • Sugar 250gr

    STEPS:

  1. Only the soft inside of the bread is used after it’s made into small pieces. There are different ways of achieving that but in order to make the most of the bread cut it into slices, shave the crust off and then pick the bread apart.
  2. Add 3 egg yolks, a little bit of ground coconut, 3 tbsp of margarine, 2 heaping table spoons of cocoa powder, 250 gr of sugar and mix everything in the bowl until well connected.
  3. Grease hands with a little margarine and roll small portions of dough-like mix into little balls, then roll the balls in ground coconut and place in paper cups.
