On tonight's Cantonese Edition (9pm - OMNI.2), imports from China have been causing concern in a number of different areas, from tooth paste to toys. A general forum took place on food safety in Canada – including the safety of food imported from China. Reporter Helena Wong gives us some food for thought!

- Gun Crimes:
Statistics Canada has released a report that in 2006, violent crimes involving the use of firearms remained stable for a fourth consecutive year. Police have said that there were 8,100 victims involving fire arm use, and 2/3 of all incidents, have involved hand guns. For victims of violence, gun crimes accounted for 2.4% of all violent activity and primarily remain a big city problem. Vancouver had the highest rate, followed by Winnipeg and then Toronto.
- Pakistan Politics:
Husband of late former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, has ruled himself out as Prime Minster, despite the success of his party. Asif Ali Zardari said they will choose another candidate to lead a coalition government. Meanwhile, following the election, opposition party leader Nawaz Sharif says he would like to see a peaceful transition of power and President Pervez Musharraf says he himself has no plans to step down.
