Cecilia Zhang's parents give a heartfelt and emotional appeal from the parents of Cecilia Zhang, the 9 year old girl missing since Monday.
Sherry Xu and Raymond Zhang addressed the media at Police Headquarters, begging for the safe return of their only child.
Sherry Xu wept openly as she read a letter to her daughter saying "I don't know where you are, what you are doing, but you are listening to me....Mommy and Daddy suffer so much without being with you, I know you are going through much more."
She went on to say she is sorry about what happened and that she is so worried. She hopes that whoever has Cecilia will treat her nice and bring her back very soon.
Sherry Xu said that although they are physically apart, "Mommy's heart has never been separated from you."
Her father, Raymond Zhang, read a message to the community. He said he and his wife are going through the most difficult time of their lives, they are physically and emotionally exhausted, but will never give up the hope of finding Cecilia and bringing her home.
He also thanked police, the media, neighbours, and friends and teachers at Cecilia's school for their efforts.
Zhang also said his wife is Cecilia's biological mother, denying earlier reports that she might not be.
He ended with a message to whoever is holding Cecilia: "As a father, I beg you, please look at Cecilia's face, look at her eyes, what an innocent and lovely girl she is. Please don't harm her."
